Wexford GAA has taken a major step forward in its commitment to high performance and excellence in hurling with the appointment of Bernard Dunne to a new Talent and Culture Development role.
The position, created under the county’s High-Performance Plan for Hurling, is focused on building strong player pathways, improving coaching standards and embedding a winning culture across Wexford GAA. Dunne is one of Ireland’s most respected high-performance leaders. As High Performance Director of Irish Boxing, he helped guide athletes to Olympic and World Championship success. He also played a major role in the historic All-Ireland run with Dublin’s senior footballers and recently contributed to the development of Indian boxing at an international level. In Wexford, Dunne will work closely with players, coaches and management to help foster long-term success. “We are thrilled to welcome Bernard to Wexford GAA,” said County Chairperson John Kenny. “His experience at the highest levels of sport, and his proven ability to build strong cultures, will be a huge asset to our county.” Dunne himself is excited about the challenge: “I believe in the power of culture, values and high standards to unlock potential. Wexford has a proud GAA tradition and I’m looking forward to helping athletes thrive at all levels.”
