Almost 40% rise in irish deaths abroad since 2016

Tourists are being advised not to take risks when travelling abroad.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says this year is likely to be a record one for the number of Irish people dying in other countries. There was an almost 40 per cent rise in the number of deaths year-on-year between January and June. Pat Bourne from the Department of Foreign Affairs, says young people take many risks while on holiday.
