Another crash leaves one dead and another in a serious condition
A woman has died - and a second woman is in a serious condition - following a collision in county Meath. Two men have also been taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries. It brings to six the number of people who have died in the first 8 days of 2015. This latest crash - between a truck and a car- happened on the Duleek to Drogheda Road at around 6 o'clock this morning. Four people - including two men and two women - were travelling in the car when the incident happened. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining occupants have all been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital where the second woman is said to be in a serious condition, while the two men's injuries are described as non life threatening. The truck driver - a man - was uninjured. It comes as five others have died on the countries roads so far this year. On Tuesday, four girls - aged 19 and 20 - died following a collision in Co. Kildare. While, a 33-year-old woman died following a collision in Ballyshannon in Co Donegal on January 1st.
