Call for more gardai to be instated in co. wexford
The drop in the number of Gardai operating in County Wexford was raised in Dail Eireann yesterday. It was brought up by Fianna Fail TD John Browne who has returned to the Dail after his recent illness. Deputy Browne says numbers have dropped to unacceptable levels in recent times. He's calling on the Minister for Justice and Public Expenditure and Reform to act on this without delay. Deputy Browne says in his area of Enniscorthy there were 11 retirements and no replacements, 8 Gardai were on the drug unit which has been reduced to 1. He says County Wexford has the lowest number of Gardai per head of capita and he's called on both ministers to look at it.
