Carlow - man drowns after party game
The brother of a young man who died while taking part in the social media craze "neknomination" is warning others to stop the drinking game - before more lives are lost. 19 year old Johnny Byrne jumped into the river Barrow while being filmed drinking alcohol - as part of the game. He got into difficulties and drowned. A search operation was launched and his body was recovered from the water at Millford Lough shortly before 10 o'clock this morning. His brother Patrick has now taken to Facebook - urging others to stop taking part in the internet craze. CEO of drinkaware.ie, Fionnula Sheehan, says people thinking of participating in this game need to consider both the risk to their own health and the health of others.
