China Annoyed At Trump Chat With Taiwan President

China's Foreign Ministry has lodged a protest after U.S.

President-elect Donald Trump spoke with the president of self-ruled Taiwan. Washington cut diplomatic ties in 1979 with the island nation - which Beijing sees as a renegade province, rather than independent. China says the Americans need to carefully handle the issue but it blames Taiwan for - what it calls - a "petty" move.
