Everest avalanche death toll rises
13 Nepalese guides have been killed and three other people are still missing after an avalanche on Mount Everest. The avalanche - the deadliest in eight years - hit the most popular route to the mountain's peak. It hit an area just below a hiking base camp at around 1:30am this morning, Irish time. Irish mountaineer Jason Black has climbed Everest. He says he is devastated by theNews. "These guys know this mountain inside out - it's their life" he said. "It's a real tragedy - as an Everest summiter myself my heart goes out to these guys, I know what these guys do to facilitate climbers from around the world to...follow the dreams of life to get to the top of world" he added.
