Gardai investigating call that led to security alert at intel in kildare
Gardai are investigating a call that led to a security alert at the Intel plant in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. Hundreds of workers were evacuated this morning while specialist units carried out a sweep of the campus following a suspected bomb threat. Workers en route to the site were instructed to check in with their line managers and those arriving around the time of the alert were advised to park their cars outside the facility. The security alert was lifted just after 9 o'clock and workers were allowed back into the plant shortly afterwards. A spokesperson for Intel says the evacuation was carried out as a precaution and the matter is now being investigated by Gardai.
