It has funding in place for almost 20 thousand new staff this year, but its estimated it may struggle to fill half of those roles. Finding consultants for regional hospitals is proving especially difficult. HSE Chief Executive, Paul Reid, says the recruitment market globally is very challenging. Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Wexford has once again demonstrated its significant role in fostering economic growth, ranking in the top three Local Enterprise Offices in Ireland for job creation in 2025. The office supported the creation of 391 new jobs, a 19% increase compared to 2024 and marked the 11th consecutive year of growth for the county.
