A global demand for healthcare workers is causing difficulties for the HSE.
It has funding in place for almost 20 thousand new staff this year, but its estimated it may struggle to fill half of those roles. Finding consultants for regional hospitals is proving especially difficult. HSE Chief Executive, Paul Reid, says the recruitment market globally is very challenging.
