GOODNews ON THE JOBS FRONT IN WEXFORD

A new supermarket opening has led to the creation of 20 new jobs. A new Aldi Store has opened today in Wexford Town, located on the Newtown Road, creating 20 new jobs. The new store brings the total number of Aldi stores in Ireland to 111 and is the third in Wexford Town and seventh in Co. Wexford. The company has almost doubled the number of Irish suppliers it works with since 2008 with a number of suppliers from County Wexford providing produce to the supermarket. Nationally Aldi maintains over 22,000 jobs across the Irish food industry. The first Aldi stores in Ireland opened in November 1999.

    A recent study has revealed that awareness of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is alarmingly low among older adults and their carers in Wexford and across Ireland. Despite RSV being a significant cause of hospitalisations, particularly for those aged 65 and over, only 18% of people report knowing much about the virus. The study, commissioned by Pfizer and conducted by Ipsos B&A, shows that 41% of respondents have never heard of RSV or only recognize the name.
