Rosslare Strand was buzzing with colour, courage, and community spirit yesterday morning (July 20th) as participants took part in the much-loved “Dip in the Nip” fundraiser in aid of the Hope Cancer Support Centre. The annual event, known for its fun, inclusive, and liberating atmosphere, saw dozens of brave souls strip down to their swimsuits—or less—for a refreshing early morning dip in the Irish Sea, all in the name of a great cause. Now a cherished tradition in County Wexford, the Dip in the Nip encourages people of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds to embrace body confidence and community spirit, while raising vital funds for local cancer support services. The motto is simple but powerful: “No one cares what shape or size you are.” Eileen Rowe is hopeful that the event will once again raise significant funds for the Hope Cancer Support Centre, the Enniscorthy based charity providing free emotional and practical support to people living with cancer and their families. Next Year’s Date: Already pencilled in for Saturday, July 18th, 2026 For more information on how to donate or take part in future events, visit Hope Cancer Support Centre or search “Dip in the Nip Wexford” on iDonate.
