Wexford TD Mick Wallace has called on the government to provide more support for local authorities to help solve the renting crisis.
Deputy Wallace feels that correct checks are not being made on rental properties which means tenants are living in below standard accommodation. A survey in 2014 found that 55% of rental properties did not meet recommended standards when inspected. Speaking on the Morning Mix this morning, Mick Wallace says central government needs to do more.
