Nominations are now open for the Irish Red Cross National Volunteer Awards 2025. This is your chance to recognise the incredible volunteers of the Irish Red Cross in Wexford – the people who offer support comfort and practical help when it’s needed most.
The awards celebrate the dedication care and commitment of Irish Red Cross volunteers who give their time to support people and communities across Ireland. You could nominate: A volunteer who delivered medical supplies and food during the January snow and ice The teams who responded after Storm Éowyn checking on elderly and vulnerable people left without heat or power First aiders who are always ready at community events matches and festivals Volunteers who teach life-saving skills in schools and community halls Search and rescue volunteers who work day and night all year round Teams who supported major public events like Electric Picnic All Together Now and the Big Top Galway Those who help people from Ukraine and Gaza settle in Ireland organising events and supporting families Community support volunteers who bring comfort and connection to those feeling lonely or isolated There are 73 Irish Red Cross branches and 4000 members across Ireland. They train and volunteer to help communities prepare for emergencies respond when they happen and recover with strength. You can nominate a volunteer in one of these categories: Volunteer of the Year Young Volunteer of the Year Community Support Volunteer of the Year Unit Member of the Year Instructor of the Year Branch of the Year Newcomer of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award People in Wexford are invited to take part and shine a light on someone who truly makes a difference. Nominations are open until Tuesday 30th September 2025 at 5pm.
