Post mortem on body parts found in dublin recycling centre
Tests are being carried out on body parts found at a recycling centre in West Dublin, to try to identify who and where they came from. A human leg and other remains were found by workers at Thorntons recycling plant in Ballyfermot last night. A post mortem is being carried out on the body parts at Tallaght Hospital, to find out if the sex and age of the remains. Gardai have also carried out a technical examination at the scene. Local Councillor Brid Smith says she is aware the plant does deal with some medical waste. "They've a very, very limited licence to allow them bring any medical waste through the plant" she said. "I'd be quite shocked if that was the case - and the medical waste that I saw them bringing through in the past was from sealed containers, it wasn't something that you just throw it in the bin and there it is" she added.
