Post mortem taking place on dublin teen who died at the weekend
A post mortem examination is being carried out on the body of a teenager, who died after a night out in Dublin at the weekend. Tests will be conducted to see if illegal drugs played a role 18 year old in Ana Hick's death. The Dalkey teen died at the Mater Hospital yesterday, after collapsing on Middle Abbey Street at about 3am on Saturday morning. Cork-based emergency medicine consultant Dr Chris Luke says 'dance drugs' are still a major problem on the Irish social scene. "I've been involved with I think with nightclub medicine for about 25 years - it began in Cream in Liverpool in the early 90s - it's about looking after the health of clubbers" he said. "First aid, nurses, doctors...and so forth". "But we're still not stemming the tide - it's been dozens in the last five years". "Dozens of youngsters in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Ireland have died from taking dance drugs" he added.
