The €50 million takeover of Sam McCauleys Chemists is to be referred to the States merger watchdog.
Cardinal Carlyle Ireland intends taking a majority stake in the Wexford based pharmacy chain. The deal means the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission must approve it before the sale can go ahead.
