A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for several areas across the country.
Heavy rain is expected to begin in the South, moving slowly upwards as the day goes on. Thunderstorms are also likely in Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford. The public are being warned of the potential localized flooding and difficult driving conditions.
