The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation will sit down for talks with the HSE today to try and avert strike action.
It's the latest attempt for both sides to reach agreement in the row over pay and recruitment. Nurses and midwives are due to stage the first of 6 strikes next Wednesday.
