Teenager released without charge in relation to fatal road crash in ferns
A teenager - who was arrested in relation to a fatal road collision in County Wexford on the 12th of January - has been released without charge. However the 16 year-old appeared before Wexford district court today in relation to other charges. Gardai in Enniscorthy investigating a two car fatal road traffic collision on the 12th January arrested the 16 year old man in connection with the incident last Friday. The crash occurred on the N11 at Ballylough, Ferns at approximately 10.30pm. The teenager - who's from Wicklow and can not be named for legal reasons - was detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. He was released without charge yesterday and a file is being prepared for the DPP. Meanwhile the 16 year-old appeared before Wexford district court this morning on foot of a bench warrant which was issued at a previous sitting of Wicklow District court. It came about after he failed to turn up for a court appearance there in respect of outstanding charges and was not related to the fatal road collision in Ferns.
