A woman remains in a critical condition in hospital following a three-vehicle collision in Co. Westmeath yesterday.
The crash, involving a truck and two cars, happened during daylight hours in dry weather conditions at Hiskinstown, Delvin. The woman, who was the driver of one of the cars was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital, where she remains in a serious condition. Two other women, aged 25 and 38, died following the road crash. The male truck driver was uninjured. In Dublin Gardaí are investigating after a 47 year old man died in a road traffic accident this morning. The pedestrian was knocked down on Shelbourne Road in Dublin 4 shortly after midnight. He was treated by emergency services personnel but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
