The Hope Centre in Enniscorthy is getting a new home. Ambitious plans for the redevelopment of Co. Wexford’s Hope Cancer Support Centre have takena major step forward with the announcement that a site for the proposed new purpose built building has been identified. Local Businessman Dan Kickham has agreed to gift a site at Quarrypark in Enniscorthy to the Hope Centre. This give substantial impetus to the Hope Centre’s redevelopment proposals. Chairperson Mairead Fanning made the announcement at the 2025 AGM of the Hope Centre: “Mr Kickham’s generosity has made our redevelopment plans a reality and it allows us to move forward in a much shorter timeframe that we thought possible. We are highly appreciative of the gift of this site. We are grateful to all those who continue to support the Hope Centre and the work it does in meeting an ever increasing demand. Mr Kickham, who previously donated the site for the new graveyard in Enniscorthy said he was pleased to have this opportunity to contribute to this worthy project, which would ensure that the Hope Centre’s caring and professional services would continue to be available to the people of Co. Wexford and beyond for many years to come. The prime location of the site is considered by the Board to be ideal, with proximity to Quarrypark Medical Centre. The excellent road access and adjacent bus service facilities add significantly to the overall suitability of the site. Subject to the usual legal considerations and development funding, it is anticipated that the site transfer will proceed over the coming months, subject to planning permission being granted by Wexford County Council.
