Wexford EV Drivers Spend Over 3 Hours Charging on Average

Electric vehicle (EV) drivers in Wexford are spending an average of 3.26 hours per charging session, according to new figures from EZO, Ireland’s leading private EV charger provider.

The data provides a snapshot of how the transition to electric mobility is progressing at a local level. The report, based on activity over the past 12 months, shows 422,498 charging sessions took place across the country during that period. Nearly 600 new AC and DC chargers were added nationwide, helping to improve accessibility and reduce congestion at popular charging points. Some of the busiest days for EV charging in Ireland were February 28th, August 5th, and August 15th, suggesting seasonal peaks and potential pressure points for infrastructure planners. The average session time in Wexford highlights how charging habits can vary across regions, influenced by factors such as charger speed, travel patterns and vehicle battery capacities. Longer session durations are more typical at slower AC chargers, commonly found in residential or destination settings.
