The country has recorded the lowest number of house buildings in the past year since records began in 1970 However house construction in County Wexford held its own with 2012 as the government announced plans to boost construction levels again Just eight thousand three hundred homes were built in Ireland last year down from eight thousand five hundred in 2012 However the figures for County Wexford show no drop with 306 new houses built here last year, simiilar to 2012 when 305 were constructed This was the highest number in the south east and the fourth highest in Leinster after Dublin Meath and Louth In all ten counties reported a drop in house build numbers last year. Now the government is to boost numbers with a number of incentives to get building off the ground again and provide up to 60thousand construction jobs in the process House building reached a peak in 2006 when 93,500 homes were built just before the crash came
