Wexford man left in hospital because of lack of home care funding
A County Wexford woman says her husband is being forced to stay in hospital because of a lack of funding for home care. Maria's husband Joe was left paraplegic in 2013 after a workplace accident. He was transferred to Wexford General Hospital from a Dublin hospital 5 months ago. His wife says after their fight to have their house adapted to accomadate him - they've been told there's no funding available to provide the 21 hours of home care they require a week. Maria says it makes no sense for him to be taking up a hospital bed when people on waiting on trolleys at the hospital every day. She says her husband is a young man at 45 and he deserves more than to be left in a hospital when there's no need for him to be there.
