Wexford Secondary Students Urged to Enter Stripe Young Scientist 2026 Before Deadline

Time is running out for Wexford-based secondary school students who want to take part in one of Ireland’s most exciting student competitions – the 2026 Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (Stripe YSTE).

Applications for the 2026 event close at 5pm on Thursday, September 26, 2025, giving students just a few days left to submit their ideas. Open to students aged 12 to 19, the Stripe YSTE will take place from January 7–10, 2026 at the RDS in Dublin. This will be the first exhibition with Stripe as title sponsor, continuing the legacy of innovation and support for young science talent. There are more than 200 prizes up for grabs, with a total prize fund of €50,000. The top prize – the Stripe Young Scientist & Technologist of the Year Award – includes €7,500 and the chance to represent Ireland at the European Union Contest for Young Scientists in 2026. To support participation, Stripe's Accommodation Grant Scheme will once again help schools travelling more than 70km to Dublin. DEIS schools, regardless of distance, are also eligible for extra funding to support travel and accommodation. How to Apply: Students must complete an online application and submit a one-page project proposal via the exhibition website. Finalists will be announced in late October. Stripe also plans to expand the exhibition experience with more support for teachers and students, showcasing new tech like AI and even highlighting books that inspired past entries. “Stripe YSTE is Ireland’s most exciting stage for young people to showcase their ideas,” said Niamh O'Donnellan, Head of Stripe YSTE. “With the deadline fast approaching, we’re encouraging every student in Wexford to follow their curiosity and apply.” 🔗 Apply now and learn more at: www.stripeyste.com📅 Deadline: Thursday, 26 September 2025 at 5pm
